FEU: wood fire inside a four-venue site at Belongil
Not a standalone restaurant — one room in a multi-venue operation, which changes how you should read it.

What it is
A wood-fired kitchen at Belongil, part of The Belongil, a site running four distinct venues under one operation: a bistro, a bar behind a cellar door, and events alongside the restaurant itself. FEU is the fire-led one.
The multi-venue arrangement is unusual in this register, where almost everything is a single room with a single licence. It means the name on a booking matters more than usual — arriving at the site is not the same as arriving at the restaurant, and the four rooms keep different formats and different evenings.
Belongil, and the walk that is longer than it looks
Belongil sits just west of the town centre along the beach, close enough to look walkable on a map and far enough that most people drive it, particularly after dark when the beach route stops being an option.
It is one of the parts of the shire that has gained the most since the guides were written: several of the venues out this way appear in none of them.
Belongil also sits on the register's edge in another sense: it is close enough to be treated as town by every guide and far enough that the walk back is a decision. Several of the venues out here appear in none of the surveyed guides at all.
Reading a multi-venue site before you book
Four venues on one site means four different evenings and, in practice, four different levels of formality reachable through the same front door. The bistro is not the wood-fired room and the bar behind the cellar door is neither.
The thing to get right is the name on the booking. It is the one situation in this register where arriving at the correct address can still leave you in the wrong room, and it is worth thirty seconds on their site to avoid.
Bookable, but not readable
Its own site runs a table-booking system and publishes no menu. Of the 60 venue sites read for this register, 20 expose a booking system and 34 publish a menu, and most of the rooms in the first group are in the second as well. Here you can hold a table without being able to read what the kitchen is cooking.
For a wood-fired room that matters less than it would elsewhere, because the fire narrows the menu before the kitchen does. It matters more if you are booking for someone with a short list of things they will eat, and it is one more reason to get the room name right at the point of booking.
